FAQ

The questions everyone asks.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. The best teams have more than coders — designers, sellers, people who can tell the story. And if you want to learn to code over the weekend, that works too: mentors are there to help.

Do I need a team already?

No. Most people come alone. There’s a dedicated team-forming session on Saturday morning. You’re also welcome to bring a team.

Do I need an idea already?

No. Partners present challenges on Saturday morning and you can take any of them. Bringing your own idea is completely fine too.

What should I bring?

A laptop and a charger. Food, drink and everything else is on us.

Do we sleep at the venue?

No. The venue closes at 22:00 on Saturday and opens at 8:00 on Sunday. You sleep at home — that’s deliberate.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. The event is completely free for participants, food included. Partners cover it.

Am I the right age?

It’s aimed at high schoolers, roughly 15–21. If you’re near the edge and unsure, email team@stuhi.org.

Can I come from outside Tampere?

Yes. It’s open to high schoolers anywhere in Finland. We can’t cover travel, unfortunately.
